Mitch Daniels bagging a 2012 run for now

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels with First Lady Cheri Daniels

The Indianapolis Star reports today that Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels has decided he will not run for president at the request of his family.

The announcement leaves the current field of announced or possible candidates (and their last book on saving America) as follows:

Sarah Palin - America By Heart
Newt Gingrich - To Save America: Stopping Obama's Secular-Socialist Machine
Jon Huntsman - None
Herman Cain - They Think You're Stupid: Why Democrats Lost Your Vote and What Republicans Must Do to Keep It
Mitt Romney - No Apology: The Case for American Greatness
Tim Pawlenty - Courage to Stand: An American Story
Michelle Bachmann - None
Ron Paul - Liberty Defined: The 50 Urgent Issues That Affect Our Freedom
Rick Santorum - It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good

Huntsman and Bachmann should probably not be taken too seriously until they come out with a Save America from the Socialist Left book.  If they are written, look for Massachusetts' health care system put in place by Romney to come in for special treatment.

The average number of children for these 9 candidates is 4.44.  Which means that while they may not like the social welfare system, they've pitched in to do their part to sustain it.
